Kat Dennings was born on June 13, 1986 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and was given the name Katherine Victoria Litwack. She was the daughter of Ellen is a poet and speech therapist while her father, Gerald, was a molecular pharmacologist as well as a professor at a college. Dennings is the youngest of five kids who was raised in an all-Jewish household. Dennings was a student at a school which was not traditional and she was only in a brief period of homeschool. It was logical for her to homeschool as she hoped to become an actress at a young age. Dennings was able to finish her high school education when she was the age of 14. She had already begun acting in commercials at the age of 9. She moved into Los Angeles with her family after graduating from high school, to study acting. Kat Dennings, as she was known at the time was a student at the time, and began to audition. Kat Dennings acting debut after her move to LA when she appeared in the HBO series "Sex and the City" in 2000. Following that, Dennings was a star in WB's sitcom "Sex and the City".
