Sharon Yvonne Stone was born on March 10, 1958, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, to the accountant Dorothy Lawson and tool and die manufacturer as well as former worker in the factory Joseph William Stone II. Michael, Kelly, Patrick and Dorothy Lawson are her 3 siblings. Stone started second grade in kindergarten at age five. In 1975, she graduated from Saegertown high school in Saegertown (Pennsylvania). She also competed at Miss Pennsylvania. Miss Pennsylvania pageant and won Miss Crawford County. Stone, along with her Aunt in 1977, made the move in New Jersey for a modeling job. She was signed by Ford Modeling Agency a week later. Then, she moved to Europe and spent a full year with her aunt in Milan as well as Paris. Stone was, however, dissatisfied with the acting and modeling in Europe. She chose to keep her acting career going as an actress during the time she lived there. In her 20s, she starred in the Woody Allen film "Stardust Memories" which received mixed reviews.
